Spring is the season of new beginnings, it’s also the perfect time to get into shape with summer right around the corner. I’ve always had somewhat of a workout routine, but last fall I started running. I’ve been getting a little bored with it lately and noticed that I wasn’t pushing myself anymore. I decided it was time to make a change and really challenge myself. Hopefully some of the things I’m trying will help you motivate yourself and push through your fitness goals!
1. Push Yourself Further– First up, I signed up for my very first mud run. I’m really excited to get down and dirty and run through the mud and obstacles…but I’m equally as terrified! I really like to run so signing up for a race was a great motivation starter and a way to push myself further than I had been.
2. Mix it Up– I broke up my everyday routine of running by adding in Zumba class once a week. I’ve always loved Zumba, but got so committed to running that I wasn’t doing anything but that. Zumba is the one hour a week that I can dance like a fool and burn some mega calories.
3. Try Something New– I tried a Krav Maga class. I had never even heard of Krav Maga until a few weeks ago. I was really nervous to take the class, but it turned out to be really fun. It took me out of my comfort zone and focused on muscles that I hadn’t been using in my other workouts.
Needless to say, the last few weeks of my workout routine has been anything but boring. I find myself wanting to hit the gym harder everyday to break through all of my goals.
What have you been doing to mix up your workout routine? Let me know in the comments!
Xoxo,
Sarah
