Spotlight Friday with Tanya Paye of RSVP Weddings & Events

We had a great time interviewing Event Planner Tanya Paye of RSVP Events. It was fun learning all about her and her start in the business.

Wedit: How did you get your start in the Event Planning Industry?

Tanya: My family members worked in hospitality and various ends of the event industry, I was always involved and always loved planning. The only thing missing in the family was an event planner.

Wedit: What is your favorite part of the industry?

Tanya: My favorite part is seeing my clients’ happy faces throughout the day and especially at the end. This is a hard job but that moment keeps me going.

Wedit: What are your favorite wedding trends this year?

Tanya: Outdoor vignettes. I love bringing the inside outdoors. I live in California where inside space is at a premium so I’ve learned to really use outdoor space to create a comfortable and inviting feeling for guests.

Wedit: What is the biggest change you have seen since the start of your career?

Tanya: Moving from New Jersey to California. Weddings are done very differently on the west coast. They are much less formal and that was a big thing for me to get accustomed to.

Wedit: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Tanya: Don’t take every little thing personally. Not every client will love every idea. It doesn’t mean you aren’t great at what you do!
