Wedit: How did you get your start in the Event Planning Industry?
Stephanie: As a young adult, I started in film production, specializing in Assistant Directing. After college graduation, I entered the corporate world by joining an in-house audiovisual team for hotels in San Diego. I learned the technical side of meeting and events, which led me to a local major theme park to hone my special effects and show programming skills. From there, I felt called back into the hotel industry and found myself as a social catering sales manager for a 4-Diamond hotel in downtown San Diego. The culmination of all these careers, as well as my 5 boys, has led me to create and operate Best Day Ever Weddings + Events.
Wedit: What is your favorite part of the industry?
Stephanie: Teamwork and collaboration.
Wedit: What are your favorite wedding trends this year?
Stephanie: Boho chic and sustainable efforts.
Wedit: What is the biggest change you have seen since the start of your career?
Stephanie: Couples are utilizing social media (particularly Pinterest) to create their own weddings. DIY is totally in, even to the point of creating their own venues from parks to parking lots.
Wedit: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Stephanie: Marriage is NOT 50/50, it’s 100/100. Both partners have to give 100% of their effort, time,
