Spotlight Friday with Jackie White of Cheers Event Group

This week it was so fun learning all about Jackie White of Cheers Event Group.

Wedit: How did you get your start in the Event Planning Industry?

Jackie: My mom has been a wedding planner for 30 years. I grew up in the business!

Wedit: What is your favorite part of the industry?

Jackie: Watching the couple dance their hearts out. The planning is done and it’s all come to fruition – they get to let free and fully enjoy themselves!

Wedit: What are your favorite wedding trends this year?

Jackie: Farm tables – my husband and I have built a few for our venues.

Wedit: What is the biggest change you have seen since the start of your career?

Jackie: The First Look. It’s a game changer! It frees up so much time and allows for so many pictures to be taken care of ahead of time, giving the couple more time for FUN!

Wedit:What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Jackie: I’m not sure they qualify as advice, but I live by two quotes: “Wherever you go, go with all your heart” – Confucius & “Life goes on” – Robert Frost

This business can be fun, but it can also be stressful. You have to remind yourself that in the end, everything is going to be just fine. Some things seem like a catastrophe, but when you put it into perspective, it’s really not bad. This is a great one for anyone in the wedding industry: “A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.” (-Unknown) It’s the perfect reminder that that’s what it’s all about (sometimes we forget!).
