There are many wedding traditions, but the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” has become the most popular and recognized tradition across the U.S. Typically, a bride’s family member gifts an item representing each part of the tradition, but the bride can do it for herself, too.
We’re breaking down each part of the tradition in blog posts. Did you miss part 1 and 2? Learn about “something old” and “something borrowed,” in our previous blog posts. We don’t have a blog post for “something new,” since everything is considered new for the wedding! Today, we’re talking about “something blue.”
Something blue represents fidelity, love and purity. There are many ways to incorporate blue in a wedding! Some examples include blue shoes, blue stitching in a wedding dress, blue ribbon wrapped around the bouquet of flowers, blue hair accessories, and more. It’s easy to be crafty with this tradition!
