Oscars Fashion Trends for Wedding Guests

The Oscars are the biggest night in Hollywood. That means celebrities come dressed to impress. Unlike the Golden Globes blackout, the stars were in the latest trends and couture from Fashion Week.

Even if you’re not a celebrity, you can still follow these trends for the next wedding you’re attending. Who doesn’t want to feel like they belong in the movies for one night?

What trend was your favorite?

Metallics

Metallics were a HUGE trend at this year’s Oscars. Stars like Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lawrence went for this trend in simple silhouettes, yet they still stood out amongst the rest. Lupita Nyong’o stepped it up a notch with a fun neckline and jeweled details.

Pastels

Nothing says a springtime wedding like wearing pastels. Saoirse Ronan went for a pale pink dress with a bow detail on the back and simple jewelry, while Emily Blunt and Kelly Marie Tran let their dresses speak for themselves. Regardless if it’s a structured dress or more flowy, pastels are still the perfect color to wear in the spring.

Bold Colors

On the opposite side of pastels, bold colors were everywhere on the Oscars red carpet. Viola Davis and Eiza Gonzalez wore eye-catching colors but kept the actual dress simple. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing such a bright color to a wedding, take a note from Greta Gerwig’s marigold dress. You an also opt for bright accessories with a black dress.
