Courtney Hayes-Jurcheck of The Day-Of Events

Courtney from The Day-of events is all about celebrating love. “Love is love, and really what the world needs right now is more and more joyful celebrations of this miraculous thing called love.”

How did you get your start in the Event Planning Industry?

Courtney: I was a professional actor which meant I was 90% of the time unemployed, so like most starving artists, I began catering (actually began in college!). Loved the industry so much I gave up acting and went to a wedding planning certification course in 2009, then worked with multiple catering and event companies before starting The Day-Of!

What is your favorite part of the industry?

Courtney: Celebrating love, in every form, between every type of couple. Love is love, and really what the world needs right now is more and more joyful celebrations of this miraculous thing called love.

What are your favorite wedding trends this year?

Courtney: Being yourself! Grooms Bouquets! Having the best time at the years best party (your wedding)!

What is the biggest change you have seen since the start of your career?

Courtney: Breaking traditions and finding ways to break out of the super gendered world of weddings – by just replacing bridal with wedding (ex. wedding party, wedding suite, etc) we can be more inclusive to all types of couples, not just the ones who include a bride.
