Spotlight Friday with Keye Walker of Elegant Edge Events

This week for Spotlight Friday I had the pleasure of interviewing Keye Walker of Elegant Edge Events.

Wedit: How did you get your start in the Event Planning Industry?
Keye: I started a catering business while in culinary school with another student. Our clients loved how we worked some much they asked us to handle more and more details of their events. We natural grew into the event planning role and subsequently got the education to make us more knowledgeable and efficient. Elegant Edge was born from those experiences and now we can handle almost every aspect of weddings and events in-house.

Wedit: What is your favorite part of the industry?
Keye: I love to see all the planning and preparation come together. There is nothing more satisfying than a happy client.

Wedit: What are your favorite wedding trends this year?
Keye: I really like this year’s Pantone color and hoop centerpieces. Obsessed with both!

Wedit: What is the biggest change you have seen since the start of your career?
Keye: Social Media!! When I started 13 years ago didn’t really even need a website. Now your website is a great start, but your social media presence is what makes you relevant in the market place.

Wedit: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Keye: Know your worth. Be confident in your skills and charge accordingly.
